A toplevel academic, former president of the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights and judge of the International Court of Justice. He leaves an impressive legacy, a tireless humanist, his work shook the classrooms forming generations, and one of his undeniable characteristics that made him admired was to put the victims of human rights violations at the center of all the machinery for the protection and promotion of human rights. humans. I met him personally in 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, he shone for his intelligence, easygoing treatment, and very knowledgeable of all the jurisprudence, with such solvency he expressed and developed each progress of the cases, and the contribution of these to the legal culture of the human rights.
